Waterproof garden cushions – large floor cushions in Outdoor Pro

Our waterproof garden cushions are generous floor cushions you can lie, lounge or sit on – on the lawn, the terrace or the balcony, and indoors as well. The category contains four cushions made from Outdoor Pro, a waterproof, quick-drying fabric for indoor and outdoor use: the Large Floor Cushion XL for kids, the Giant Floor Cushion XXL, the Round Cushion Seat and the Square Floor Seating Pad.

Four cushions, four sizes

• Large Floor Cushion XL for Kids – approx. 98 × 138 × 25 cm, filled with around 200 l of EPS beads.
• Giant Floor Cushion XXL – approx. 135 × 175 cm, filled with around 400 l of EPS beads; roomy enough for an adult to lie down on.
• Round Cushion Seat – approx. 90 cm in diameter, filled with EPS beads.
• Square Floor Seating Pad – 44 cm wide, filled with upholstery foam, with a carry handle.

The two large cushions are the ones to choose for lying down: the XL was designed with children in mind – for reading, playing and an afternoon rest – while the XXL gives adults room to lie back. The Round Cushion Seat is a wide, round seat, and the seating pad is the piece you can carry anywhere and put down on a step, the decking or the grass.

Outdoor Pro fabric: waterproof and quick-drying

Every cushion in this category is made from Outdoor Pro. The fabric is waterproof, so morning dew, a damp lawn or a passing shower stays on the surface, and it dries quickly afterwards. It is intended for indoor and outdoor use, which means the same cushion can spend the afternoon in the garden and the evening in front of the television. You can choose from many plain colours, and several cushions also come in prints such as Abstract, Fresh, Jungle and Botanic. When you are not using the cushions, keep them out of full sun and store them somewhere dry.

Fillings: EPS beads and upholstery foam

The XL and XXL floor cushions and the Round Cushion Seat are filled with EPS beads – virgin (not recycled), odourless polystyrene granules with a hygiene certificate. The beads move with you, so the cushion shapes itself around your body whether you lie flat or prop yourself up on an elbow. The Square Floor Seating Pad is different: it is filled with upholstery foam. Beads settle with use; for the bead-filled floor cushions we sell EPS refill beads in 50, 100, 200 and 400 l bags.

Covers and care

Day to day, a wipe with a damp cloth is enough. The XL and XXL floor cushions have a white inner bag attached inside: pour the beads into it, and the outer cover can be taken off and washed at 30 °C. The seating pad has a removable cover as well. The Round Cushion Seat is sewn without a removable cover, so simply wipe it clean. Replacement covers are available for the XL and XXL floor cushions – in Outdoor Pro, and in Soft Velvet, Soft Corduroy and Premium Prints for indoor use. To change a cover on the XL or XXL, pour the beads from the old cover into the new one. Seams are reinforced, and the zip is sewn in so that it stays out of sight. Whatever you wash, let it dry completely before putting it back on.

In the garden and at home

Lay the XXL cushion on the lawn for an afternoon with a book, put the XL in a shady corner as a play and reading spot for children, or arrange the round seat and a couple of seating pads around a low table on the terrace. Indoors, the same cushions make a relaxed film corner or extra seating when friends come round. Floor cushions have no frame and no hard edges, so they are easy to pick up and move to wherever the family happens to be. Children can happily nap on a floor cushion; babies, however, should always sleep on a firm, flat mattress.

Choosing the right cushion

Think about who will use it and how. For children, the XL at approx. 98 × 138 cm is easy to move around and big enough to lie on. For adults who want to lie down, the XXL at approx. 135 × 175 cm is the comfortable choice – the taller you are, the more the extra length matters. For sitting rather than lying, pick the Round Cushion Seat or the Square Floor Seating Pad.

All cushions carry a 24-month warranty on the cover and fabric and a 6-month warranty on the filling. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and delivery is free on orders from €85; we ship to 23 EU countries. The large cushions arrive in a carton – 70 × 60 × 50 cm for the XL and 120 × 60 × 60 cm for the XXL (the size of the carton, not of the cushion). Consumers can return an order within 14 days.
