Sisal Flat Weave Carpets: the Woven Sisal Look in Practical Fibres

Our sisal flat weave carpets combine the cord-like texture of a classic sisal rug with a low, flat-woven surface. In this category, "sisal" describes the look and the weave: 365 of the 397 models are made of 100% polypropylene, 21 of 100% cotton and 11 (the SPARK collection) of a synthetic fibre blend. The rugs come from an external supplier and are shipped from Europe. Every technical detail on this page – thickness, pile height, care and places of use – is taken from the supplier's product data.

Materials in the sisal flat weave range

• Polypropylene (365 models) – the cord-weave collections such as FLOORLUX, SION, TIMO, JERSEY, SANTO, SPRING, ORIGI, PATIO, COLOR and ORGANIC. The supplier describes them as flat-woven from polypropylene yarn, which creates the typical sisal-style structure.
• Cotton (21 models) – the MOROC and CASA collections. According to the supplier they can be machine-washed at up to 30°C; always follow the care label.
• Synthetic blend (11 models) – the SPARK collection, with a two-level pile of about 8 and 13 mm and a mostly beige colour range.

Thickness and texture

Flat-woven rugs stay low. The supplier gives a total thickness of about 3 mm for SION, about 6 mm for most collections (for example FLOORLUX, TIMO, PATIO and COLOR), 6–7 mm for JERSEY and ORIGI and about 10 mm for SANTO. Some lines add relief: JERSEY and SPRING are loop-pile weaves, SANTO has a two-level structure, and the cotton MOROC rugs combine pile heights of about 5 and 15 mm. The ORGANIC collection stands out with irregular, organic shapes and a pile of about 5 mm.

• FLOORLUX (61 models) – one of the largest collections: cord weave with a pile of about 6 mm, rectangular and round.
• SION (49) – the thinnest rugs in the category at about 3 mm, including melange designs.
• TIMO (34) – about 6 mm, for indoors, balconies and terraces; this collection includes most of the second-grade listings.
• JERSEY (21) and SPRING (17) – loop-pile weaves; JERSEY has loops at two heights and comes mainly in beige and grey.
• ORGANIC (25) – irregular, organic shapes, described by the supplier for interiors, terraces, balconies and garden gazebos.
• SANTO (20) – about 10 mm with a two-level structure and geometric designs.
• ORIGI (14) – about 6–7 mm; the supplier highlights the soft yarn compared with other flat-woven rugs.
• MOROC (16) and CASA (5) – 100% cotton, machine-washable at up to 30°C; MOROC rugs have fringes.

Sizes, runners and round rugs

Each model has its own set of sizes, shown in the size selector on the product page. Across the category you will find:

• Small rugs: 58×100, 60×100, 60×110, 75×150, 78×150 and 80×150 cm.
• Runners: 60, 70 and 80 cm wide in lengths of 200, 250 and 300 cm, plus 60×225 cm.
• Medium and large rugs: from 114×170 and 120×170 cm through 140×200, 160×230 and 200×290 cm up to 240×330, 272×370 and 280×370 cm.
• Round rugs: 60 models, with diameters of 120, 150, 160 and 200 cm.

The most widely offered sizes are 120×170, 200×290 and 80×150 cm, each available for more than 200 models.

Colours and patterns

Beige leads the range: 190 models are listed in beige shades, followed by grey and silver (65), black (37), blue (26), white (23), green (15), pink (12) and brown (11). 147 rugs carry geometric patterns and 146 are plain; the rest include frames, stripes, florals, dots and mosaic motifs.

Living room, kitchen, balcony and terrace

Most rugs in the category are listed for the living room. For many polypropylene collections – among them FLOORLUX, SION, TIMO, ORIGI, JERSEY, SPRING, PATIO and ORGANIC – the supplier also names the balcony and terrace as places of use, and SANTO is described for indoor use and covered terraces. For TIMO and ORGANIC the supplier adds that they dry quickly. If you are not sure whether a particular rug suits your terrace, ask us before ordering.

Cleaning and care

The supplier's care advice for the polypropylene collections is simple: vacuum regularly and wipe dirt off with a damp cloth. For some outdoor models the supplier states that dirt can be rinsed off with water, and ORGANIC rugs may also be cleaned with a pressure washer. Underfloor heating and OEKO-TEX

According to the supplier, the TIMO, JERSEY, SANTO, SPRING, ORIGI and SPARK collections hold OEKO-TEX certification, and these collections as well as ORGANIC can be used with underfloor heating.

Second-grade rugs

Some listings, mostly from the TIMO collection, are second-quality rugs marked "2ND GRADE" in the product name. The flaw is visible in the product photos, so you can judge it before you order.
